Punters in NSW will be able to place a TAB bet on Saturday’s Newmarket Handicap with raging favourite Black Caviar out of the market.
The rare betting option has previously been available on interstate TABs only.
In the market posted on Friday for the 1200m sprint at Flemington, three-year-old Star Witness was at $3.50 ahead of Response and Beaded at $5.50.
NSW sprinter Hay List, who ran second to Black Caviar in the Lightning Stakes, was withdrawn on Friday morning due to soreness in his off-side shoulder.
TAB’s fixed odds market had Black Caviar at $1.18 on Friday afternoon to keep her perfect record intact and stretch her winning sequence to 10.
The Peter Moody-trained mare is the world’s highest-rated sprinter on the International Horse Federation’s rankings.
Heart Of Dreams remained the $4.60 favourite for the Australian Cup (2000m) ahead of Precedence at $6.
If Precedence wins it will bring up Australian Cup number 14 for master trainer Bart Cummings.
The other Group One race in Australia on Saturday is the Randwick Guineas (1600m) where Ilovethiscity and Absolutelyawesome have been the best-supported runners.
